General Counsel & Chief Legal Officer
As general counsel and chief legal officer for The Energy Authority (TEA), Barbara Miller leads TEA’s legal team.
Ms. Miller’s experience in derivatives, regulatory matters, transactions, secured lending, bond financings, securities law, employment matters, commercial contracts, and corporate governance further strengthens TEA’s position as the strategic partner of choice in providing energy solutions to public power. Her background in representing both public and private organizations also provides a unique perspective on addressing the needs of public power.
Prior to TEA, Ms. Miller served as first vice president, associate general counsel, and director of strategy at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. She brings more than 20 years of legal experience as a member of the TEA Executive Team. Her professional affiliations and civic involvement include support of and leadership roles within the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, Communities in Schools of Georgia, and YWCA of Greater Atlanta.
Ms. Miller holds a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in history and science from Harvard University.
